Teyana Taylor Jordan 1 “A Rose From Harlem” drops next week
The Teyana Taylor Air Jordan 1 is the joined force we’ve been long awaiting. She can sing, she can act, and she’s an OG sneakerhead. All that while being the coolest mom.
If you’ve been keeping up with the icon, you’ve probably caught her sporting her Off-White Sail AJ4s, or her Travis Scott AJ1 Reverse Mochas. Or maybe her J Balvin AJ2s? We can go on, but you get the point.
Undoubtedly a well-regarded sneaker enthusiast, Taylor has also collaborated with Reebok and Adidas in the past. But now, her very own Air Jordan 1 High tells a different story. After cutting the tape at the World of Flight opening in Milan, Teyana takes the design chair for an AJ1 Zoom CMFT 2. She names her newest baby after her 2018 hit record “Rose in Harlem”, and adds details that pay tribute to her Harlem roots.

Upon first look, the pair gives a head-turner energy. Even though the color scheme is a classic “gym red” paired with white, the added details make this design phenomenal. Firstly, the classic white leather base joins the gym red leather overlays, both hugged by a dark brown heel.
The center of attention? A pair of different shoes! The left shoe displays prominent oversized leather Swooshes in black with exaggerated zig-zag stitching across it. As for the right shoe, it favors embroidered Swooshes in red with green embroidery in the shape of a rose’s prickles. That’s not all. Additional detailing includes a rose-themed Swoosh on the right shoe’s tongue and “TEY” text on the left shoe’s tongue while “A Rose from Harlem” text spans across the hidden side of the collar. The toe box is filled with little gold x’s and the upper eyelets are also gold in color. To top it off, the pair comes with 3 sets of laces: Yellow, Red, and Black.
All of this comes packed in a special box that says “out of the concrete, grew a rose,” paying homage to fellow Harlemian Tupac’s post-mortem album, Rose That Grew from Concrete. Not to mention an exclusive oversized gold rose Dubrae.
One of the biggest differences between the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 and the conventional Air Jordan 1 is the addition of Zoom Air in the midsole. That’s the same cushioning technology used on Nike’s industry-leading comfort skateboarding and running silhouettes.
