It seems like Nike is reminiscing some good old shit. The Swoosh is bringing sexy back this month. And more than one sexy. The good old Metallic Colorways from last year is making way again, but instead, on some Air Jordan 1s this year. Yes, you got that right. The Jordan 1 Court Purple is the next real shit.
The Air Jordan 1 Court Purple: A Little Throwback to the 80’s
Let’s take you back a little bit. If y’all remember, this OG colorway debuted back in the ’85 as part of the AJ1’s initial run. The “Metallic Purple” though, was last seen in 2009 as part of a region-exclusive collection. This dope pack also included the OG “Metallic Green,” “Metallic Orange” and “Metallic Red”. And now it’s finally back for the first time in over a decade!
All About the Looks
This pair is just as clean as it could get. And that’s what we call an awesome start off for this Summer’s Retro lineup. The Jordan 1 Court Purple will be featuring White premium leather on the upper with some compliments of purple accents here and there. You can find the “metallic” detailing on the Swooshes, the Wings logo at the collar, the collar itself, on Nike Air branding on the tongues, and the outsoles. This purple is basically what fires up the classic white of this pair. Designed for the ladies, the shiny patent material finishes up this Jordan 1 Court Purple adding to it some a lucious luxe touch.
OG Vibes? Not Much
We all love OGs for sure. But this colorway ain’t so identical to the original 2020 Court Purple, fam. Well, except for the existence of the purple color on them kicks, duh! But the overall feel is completely different. The original is just way too dark and comes nowhere near a Summery pair. Actually, the Laker’s kick that’s gonna drop tomorrow looks more like this OG than these white Court Purples. This 2021 drop is just so bright and super fresh. We know you likely won’t be flexin’ so many high-tops in the heat, but this Jordan 1 Court Purple is ideal for the hot season. Well, at least on the not-so-hot days.
You can pick up the shoe for yourself, and even let your little ones flex their own tiny matching pairs. The release is set on June 3 for a fair $170 price tag.

Purple is for the Royals. And you know there ain’t any shoe more royal than the Jordan 1.
