Yes, the kicks are a nod to MJ’s college days, but we gotta be specific here. Jordan 1 Brotherhood is a tribute to the fraternity he was a member of during his UNC days. Omega Psi Phi (ΩΨΦ) was founded in 1911 at Howard University, Washington. However, the fraternity now has different chapters across the country. Michael Jordan was part of the Omicron Alpha (ΟΑ) chapter in Wilmington, North Carolina. The fraternity’s motto is: “Friendship is essential to the soul”. Word!
Jordan 1 Brotherhood Servin’ Sick Looks!
So the official colors of the fraternity are Royal Purple/Old Gold. Of course, Jordan Brand brought the colors, and successfully slapped them on a Jordan 1. The end result is a pretty lit colorway, no cap. The upper starts with a white leather base and mixes the signature gold and purple on the overlays. The outsole also comes in the same shade of gold that makes the kicks look so cool!
Release Deets
The upcoming Jordan 1 Brotherhood will drop on February 26, 2022. Well, that’s what rumors are saying so far peeps. Nike didn’t drop any official release news yet. Anyway, the pair will retail for the usual $170. Now, we can’t talk about resale yet, but we bet that the kicks will be worth some good side cash baby!
