Nike Officially Introduces the Air Jordan 38
Yes folks, it’s officially that time of year when Jordan Brand blesses us with their newest silhouette— the Air Jordan 38 this time. It’s already July and sneakerheads have been eagerly awaiting news from Jordan Brand surrounding its contemporary silhouettes for the 2023-24 NBA season.
Continuing what is effectively a long-running tradition, the Air Jordan 38 is the most sustainable silhouette to date. Drawing inspiration from the Jordan 8, the AJ 38 introduces new plate technology emphasizing court mobility and performance.
Air Jordan 38 Breakdown
The Jumpman team has already put out two special reveals, including the much-anticipated Air Jordan 38. Just over a week ago, the brand showcased the sneaker’s debut “Fundamental” colorway and has since then presented a breakdown of its details and two additional colorways (including a University Blue). All of which are inspired by the Air Jordan 8 famous for its court mobility and space creation.
As the most sustainably-made silhouette, they’ve crafted Jordan 38 with at least 20 percent recycled content by weight. This shows up specifically in the marbled tongue made from the scraps of sock liners. The sneaker will also introduce the X-Plate in the tooling, which is a new technology that was created using insights gathered from MJ’s footwork. The X-Plate combines the herringbone traction pattern with the full-length Zoom Strobel unit in the midsole. It also serves as a nod to the cross-straps on the upper of the classic Air Jordan 8.
Release Deets
The Air Jordan 38 will be dropping in the “Fundamental” colorway on Aug 18 on Jordan.com and at select Jordan Brand retailers for 200 USD. Additional colorways, including the “FIBA” and “Center Star” makeups, will arrive on Sept. 7 and Sept. 25, respectively.
