The OG Air Jordan 1 “Palomino” Unveiled
The Air Jordan 1 “Palomino” is just another jaw-dropper AJ1 coming your way this fall. AJ1s first paved their way on Michael Jordan’s feet back in 1985 in the iconic (to say the least) Chicago colorway. And whether the NBA truly banned them or not, they’ve been the absolute game-changer, with Nike dropping new signature Jordans each season ever since.
The classic design features a dark brown “Palomino” suede colorway that covers the heel, collar, and toe, along with the Nike Swoosh. The same brown shade of the suede reappears at the base of the sole, alongside a cream underfoot. As for the rest of the body, dark black leather fills in the toe guard and mid-foot panel.
Lookout for the highly anticipated release this September 2nd, 2023. Retail price tag is set at $180 at Nike.com and select Jordan Brand retailers.
Air Jordan 1 Palomino Vs. Travis Scott’s 2019 “Mocha” Highs
Upon first look at the Palomino AJ1s, sneakerheads immediately pointed out its resemblance to Travis Scott’s 2019 “Mocha” highs. Community members even described it as “mocha 2.0” and “reverse mocha”.
The Air Jordan 1 Travis Scott features a white leather upper with Mocha suede overlays and black leather reversed Swooshes. Hints of red on the tongue slightly contrast the design’s earth tones. On the heel, a debossed Cactus Jack logo adds a custom feel. From there, a
yellowed midsole and matching Mocha outsole complete the design.
